Biovegan, Sourdough Extract Rye Powder, 30g

BioVegan Organic Rye Sour Dough Extract is an organic rye sour dough extract for preparing 2 loaves of bread with the typical taste of rye sourdough. This is a simple way to bring home fresh and home-baked bread. Just add yeast and flour and the rye sourdough extract is ready to bake immediately. For the fine flavouring of home-baked bread.

Rye Sourdough Bread

You also add (for 2 loaves):

700 g wheat flour / groats, 300 g rye flour / groats, 2 sachets BioVegan Meister baker's yeast (14 g), 750 ml lukewarm water, 2 tsp salt, some fat for the baking tin.

Preparation:
Mix all dry ingredients well. Add water and knead well. Cover the dough and leave it to rise in a warm place for 60 minutes. Then knead the dough again and let it rise for 30 minutes in 2 greased baking tins.

Bake the loaves with a bowl of water at 200°C for about 60 minutes. Then turn out the loaves and leave to cool on a wire rack.

Tip: Refine the bread by adding 100 g roasted onions, 100 g linseed, 100 g various nuts or 1 tbsp bread spice to the dough.

Note:
Rye sourdough extract cannot be used to make a basic starter.
The sourdough alone has no leavening power.
For 1 kg of flour, 2 sachets of BioVegan Meister baker's yeast (14 g) are needed.
