Xylitol is similar in taste to normal household sugar and has almost the same sweetening power. It has a cooling effect on the finish and helps maintain tooth mineralization when consuming foods/drinks that contain erythritol instead of sugar. Xylitol is becoming increasingly popular in cooking and baking as it is a nearly equivalent substitute for sugar and is made from corn.

Intake Note: Xylitol has a laxative effect if the intake of 0,5 g per kilogram of body weight is exceeded.
