Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a mushroom commonly found on dead wood, tree stumps and branches of deciduous trees, and occasionally on pine. It grows in groups and forms sturdy, fan-shaped caps measuring 3–8 cm across and usually no thicker than 2 mm. The caps have a white outer margin and display multiple color zones, including reddish-brown, grey, blackish, white and beige.

Turkey Tail is widely distributed across North America, Europe and Asia. Its vibrant, layered appearance resembles the tail feathers of a wild turkey, which is how it received its name. As a saprophytic fungus, it feeds on dead organic matter by breaking down lignin and cellulose in wood.

In several cultures, Turkey Tail has been traditionally used for its potential health benefits and medicinal properties.
