Inca berries (Physalis peruviana), also known as aguaymanto berries or golden berries, grow wildly in mineral-rich soils in the Peruvian Andes and have been enjoyed for their health properties in South American cultures for thousands of years.

They are an ancient food, one of the lost crops of the Incas, for some years now enjoying resurgence in the whole world. The tasty, sweet-and-sour Incan berries grow in papery husks resembling Chinese lanterns, which protect them.

Inca berries are bursting with nutrients – especially protein, phosphorous and Vitamins A, C, B1 and B6. Incan Berries offer high levels of bioflavonoids. Many studies on bioflavonoids have demonstrated their antioxidant, antiviral, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties.
