Erythritol is a natural sweetener that is used as an alternative to traditional sugar. It belongs to sugar alcohols - polyols. Erythritol has zero caloric value. It is characterized by high sweetness (60 - 80% sucrose). Erythritol has a zero glycemic index and a very low insulin index of II = 2.

Erythritol looks and tastes like sugar, leaving no unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. It can be used as a sugar substitute for sweetening, baking, cooking and making desserts. Due to the level of sweetness, slightly more erythritol than sucrose should be used.
